Reopen borders for international students
Pilot next month: Prime Minister reveals plan to reopen borders for international students
International students in Australia were victims of the Covid-19 pandemic. That is because university education shifted to online education, and most governments and countries closed their airports and borders. Moreover, students expressed that they are not getting any value out of online learning, and they would like to return to the classrooms. These students are stuck abroad, and many have said that if the borders remain closed, they will drop out. Australia shut its borders to non-citizens and non-residents in March, leaving thousands of temporary visa holders stranded abroad.
However, great news came to the surface!
The Prime Minister of Australia revealed a plan to reopen borders for international students as a pilot plan to start on the first of July, but only on pre-approved plans for particular institutions worked out between Federal authorities and states and territory authorities.
